Project skills

What gets installed and how your agent uses it.

Installed with your project

Run this from the repository you want to improve:

phasedrift init

It installs the skills below under .agents/skills/ and adds their reporting instructions to AGENTS.md. You do not need a separate download after setup.

SkillYour agent uses it to
phasedriftRead project evidence, investigate an obstacle, and track a fix
phasedrift-project-setupConnect the project and diagnose collection problems
phasedrift-session-reviewGet relevant guidance at task start and save the outcome at the end

Make the instructions take effect

Reload your agent's project instructions or start its next conversation. The managed AGENTS.md block points it to the reporting skill. Host setup explains other entry files.

Keep that managed block. It is what asks the agent to start and report each meaningful task without you reminding it.

Check the installation

phasedrift doctor
phasedrift learning reports

After a normal task, look for the new report in Agent work → Reports. Installed files alone do not prove the agent followed them.

Refresh an existing project

After installing a newer CLI:

phasedrift session setup --upgrade --hooks

Reload the agent's instructions afterward. Setup preserves unrelated instructions and settings.

Manual download

The skill kit contains the two helper skills and their references. The CLI generates the reporting skill for its installed version. The kit does not contain the application.

Install the kit manually

Compare the archive's SHA-256 with the manifest. On macOS:

shasum -a 256 "/path/to/phasedrift-agent-skills.zip"

On Linux use sha256sum. Extract into the target project without replacing existing files:

cd "/path/to/your/project"
unzip -n "/path/to/phasedrift-agent-skills.zip"
phasedrift init

Preserve customized skill files and compare differences before updating them.
